Surigao Sea - Tour

Sunday, 3 Feb 19.

It's the first weekend on February.

I felt kinda weird this morning because it's already Sunday and we only have a week left for teaching. But today was the tour day, so I just wanted be happy.

The plan for today was sea-tour in Day-asan and Mabua. A day before, Sister Nicole already told us about the schedule. We were getting ready in the morning and waiting for Sister Nicole, faculty staff and our buddies to pick us up. We were having fun while waiting.

After Sister Nicole picked us up, we traveled by bus for 40 minutes to Day-asan. Day-asan is a floating village in Surigao City. There are still so many houses on wooden above the water. Since we were here, so we had bout tour and we divided into two boats because one boat can only take around 8 people and we were more than 10 people today.

The village is surrounded by crystal clear waters that we’ll easily see the coral reefs underwater. We can see the sea creatures and it was really beautiful. Ralph Waldo Emerson said "Nature always wears the colors of the spirit" and it's so true, nature is truly the art of God.

We also stopped in little islands, only for taking pictures, for enjoying the view or for having lunch.

After Day-asan, we went to next place. It called Mabua Pebble Beach, I can say that this beach is one of the most popular beach in Surigao. We need to travel again by bus for less than an hour. We were served by beautiful view when we were on the way. Surigao has beautiful nature. This Mabua Pebble beach is full of rocks! I have never seen like this before. There were also so many people there. We also had local snacks and it was really good.

The last place that we visited is Stella's beach house in Lipata. Lipata is quite famous for the port for people to cross to small islands. Mostly, we had our educational conversation. I shared how education works in Indonesia to my Thai's friend and they shared how their education works and stuff like that. It was beautiful evening. We got to see the ferry and others small islands.

Thank you for this SEA Teacher program that we had opportunity to add our insights, experiences and knowledge, even to overcome our fears.

What an experience.
