Educational Tour to Butuan

It's finally Saturday!

So for today's activity we had a tour! It was an educational (of course) tour to Butuan. The day before, Sister Nicole already told us about the schedule. We left our room at 7 in the morning. Sister Nicole, also Anne and Marc as our buddies picked us up. It was about three hours from Surigao to Butuan travel by car. We had so much fun in the van together.

The first place that we visited was Butuan National Museum, it is one of the three national museums in Philippines. We were being accompanied by the museum docent and she explained about the history of Butuan. The museum is displaying the excavated artifacts and modern art. It was really interesting. It’s true that SEA shared a lot of common things and has been keep a good relationship since then.

This museum wasn’t only displaying the ancient artifacts but also a modern art. For that time, it was paintings by Noberto Monterona, a famous painter from Philippines. The theme for his collection that was displaying is Peace Talk. I was in awe because I really love these kinda things.

Another museum we visited was Butuan Archaeological Park. It shown the Balangay or the boat from decades ago. Also, this place became a museum because it's exactly the place where some people from decades ago excavated some artifacts. The museum docent told us about what happpened long time ago.

It was indeed great experiences. I rarely visit a museum, but I really love it. There were so many things that we have learned. Thank you for today's study tour!
